Have you ever had that quiet knowing that there is more for your life, but you cannot seem to move into it? You can see it, you can feel it, and in some ways you can even explain it, but your reality does not match what you believe is possible. That gap can be frustrating, confusing, and at times discouraging.
What makes it even harder is that this is not about a lack of desire. You want to grow, you want to move forward, and you want to walk in everything God has for you. Yet somehow, you keep finding yourself in the same place, facing the same limitations, and repeating the same patterns.
For many women, this creates an internal tension that is hard to name. You know God is not limited, so why does your life feel like it is? You know there is more, so why do you feel stuck where you are?
When you feel stuck but know there is more available, the struggle often shows up through questions like these:
Why do I feel like I’m not moving forward in my life?
Why do I keep hitting the same walls no matter what I try?
Why does it feel like something is holding me back?
Why do I struggle to step into what I know I’m capable of?
Why does my reality not match what I believe God has for me?
Why do I feel limited even when I know God is not?
You may feel stuck not because there is no opportunity, but because your perception is limiting what you believe is possible. What feels like a real barrier may actually be a learned or internal limitation.
The Bible teaches that in Christ, we are not limited in the way we often believe we are. In Ephesians 1, we are reminded that we have already been given every spiritual blessing in Christ, which means access is not the issue. The issue is often whether we recognize and walk in what has already been made available.
Scripture also shows us that transformation requires a renewal of the mind. If our thinking does not change, our experience will not change, even if our circumstances have the potential to. This is why understanding how we see is just as important as understanding what we believe.
One of the most powerful illustrations from the teaching is the idea of learned limitation. Imagine a group of fleas placed inside a jar with a lid. Even though they have the ability to jump higher than the height of the jar, they repeatedly hit the lid until they adjust their jump to stay below it. Over time, they stop jumping to their full capacity, even when the lid is removed.
The limitation is no longer physical. It is internal.
This is exactly how many women are living. At some point, something created a “lid” in your life. It may have been a past experience, a failure, a hurt, or something you were taught about yourself. You adjusted to that limitation, and now you are operating as if it is still there, even when it is not.
The transcript makes this even more clear by showing how these patterns can become generational. Just like those fleas reproduced with the same limited behavior, we can pass down patterns of limitation without realizing it. What you believe is possible becomes what you model, and what you model becomes what others adopt.
There is also a deeper spiritual layer to this. Before Christ, there were real limitations on what we could access and walk in. But through Him, those limitations were removed. The problem is that many of us are still living as if the lid is on the jar, even though it has already been taken off.
This is why you can know there is more and still feel stuck. Your awareness has increased, but your perception has not fully caught up. You see the possibility, but you have not yet broken the internal agreement with the limitation.

This means you have to begin challenging what you have accepted as “normal” in your life. Just because something has been true for a long time does not mean it has to remain true. You need to identify where you may have adjusted your thinking, your expectations, or your actions based on a limitation that is no longer real.
You also need to release the belief that something external is always holding you back. While circumstances can be real, they are not always the root issue. Sometimes the greater barrier is what you have come to believe about yourself, your capacity, and what is possible for your life.
Another important shift is to begin acting in alignment with what God has said, not just what you have experienced. That means taking steps, making decisions, and showing up differently, even when it feels unfamiliar. Growth will not happen by staying within the limits you have already accepted.
Finally, you need to embrace the truth that there is no lid. What God has made available to you is not restricted by your past, your environment, or your previous limitations. The only question is whether you are willing to see differently and move accordingly.
What limitation have you accepted as real that may no longer actually exist?
